My Holiday!

Last week, I went to Gijon. It is a town near the Cantabrian Sea, in Asturias. I was with my family in the grandmother’s house. I have liked this Holy day because I have done many things.
I practiced sport in bike and I played bowling .
On Monday, I watched a wonderful movie on TV “The last samurai”. Next day, I bought many clothes in a shopping mall.
On Wednesday I saw a religious parade “the meeting”.
On Friday I went to a village Cudillero where my family and me ate a typical food there “Caldereta”, it is a selfish casserole. My uncles gave me money for my birthday.
On Saturday, I went to hairdresser’s and I have a new hairstyle. That afternoon I went back to Madrid.
I’m very happy but I miss Easter in Gijon.

Children and TV

More and more children are watching TV all days during some hours. In Spain, 98% of the people live in a house with a TV. According to a university’s study, the numbers of hours in front of the television set increase due to the children. Everyone thinks that TV is bad and others are not sure about it. Then, some confused people are asking:

Is TV good or bad for my children?

On the one hand, many parents turn on the television in their free time because it is a good way of entertainment or for relaxing them and their children. They are astounding to the cartoons and the shine and colours of the TV screen.

On the other hand, some scientists and some parents believe that television is dangerous, especially for babies and children.
According to the Spanish medical doctors, the TV can cause some health problems. For example, since 3 years old, Juan, a Spanish child has usually watched TV and he ate popcorns or chocolate in the sofa all afternoon until his parents go back home. Later, when he was seven years he had eye problems. Also, he was fat because he didn’t practise any sport and he ate fast food all days. The only fun for him was to be sitting and watching TV.
The children can be exposed to violence and bad words in TV publicity, action movies and reality shows programmes. Then they tend to imitate.
The parents must control what their sons watch in TV and put some rules for a good behaviour.

In conclusion, I disagree that TV is good for children because it may produce problems. However, it is a good way for entertainment.

Johan Lorbeer, “performance” in Madrid

What does suggest to you an artist who is standing in a wall 4 meters from the ground? Yes, he is leaned on the wall of a street with only one hand!.
Yesterday, during some hours in the morning, the German artist Johan Lorbeer performed an exhibition in a street near the Callao’s square. The people who were walking on the street was astounded.
The artist is a professor of University of Fine Arts of Berlin, who had been presenting a new genre of art “still life performances” for some years around the world. He seems to unhinge the laws of gravity because during the performance he is in suspension in the air. He has represented a lot of physical impossible positions. He wants to be a real sculpture.
Meanwhile, people were amazed and worry to see the artist hanged in the wall. The reaction of some persons was trying to take him to feel it was true, but they couldn’t. They thought that Johan was a superhuman or a person with angelic appearance but they didn’t believe that this is a type of art.
The trick of the mystery is that Johan stays hanged due to a simple metal structure that holds him to the wall. This type of chassis is hidden within his clothes, looking to be more real.
This performance has been made whit the collaboration the Goethe-Institute of Madrid, with the finality to advertise the ARCO Fair of Art.

Film Review: The Changeling

Have you even seen a real history?. Then you should see Clint Eastwood´s exciting, mistery and interesting film, The Changeling.

The film is about a real history in 1920 s-era that happened in Los Angeles (LA). Angelina Jolie plays the part of a single mother, Christine Collins. She lives with her son Walter who is nine years old. One day, when she comes back home after her job in the telephone company, her son is kidnapped. She reports it to the police and a little search started. After five months, other boy appeared who said to be her son. Christine was confused and she invites the child to stay in her home despite she knews that he was not her son. She insist to the cops to continue looking for her true son and then Christine Collins was imprisoned at a psychiatric hospital for the corruption in LA Police. The mother is helped by Rev Gustav Briegbled and his lawyer. She leaves the hospital and she tries to fight against the police and LA authorities. Finally, there was a trial, that she won, against the police and the possible murderer of her son. However, Walter is still kidnapped but his mother will continue having the hope.

In my opinion, The Changeling film has got a fascinating and special plot and excellent actors as Angelina Jolie. I believe that this film is the best of year 2008. I think everyone should see it!
